Can Our Church Learn Something About Our Mission From Facebook?

What can our church learn from Facebook’s example?  Is there anything about this company’s recent actions that we can say “Hey, Fishers could do something like that–for Jesus’ sake!”

Here’s a link to an article that suggests our church can learn something from Facebook:

Four Lessons Churches Can Learn From Facebook’s QR Code Stunt

As you read through this article, why not post your reactions or comments here?

  • Do you agree with the lesson that says to draw younger generations you have to offer things they expect (online giving and registrations, etc.)?
  • Can you think of something that Fishers could do that would be fun and exciting?

Jesus Got ‘Dirty’ As He Was Busy With His Mission

We sometimes need to adjust our image of Jesus.

To be in mission is to get al little dirty. Just like Jesus!

Rather than an angelic figure with manicured hands, let’s think more of the calloused hands of a carpenter and one who spit and made mud and then placed it on the eyes of a blind man (see John 9:off).

To be in mission is to get a little dirty.  Just like Jesus.

That is also the point of this interesting post on the CNN Belief Blog, “Jesus Was A Dirty, Dirty God”

Here’s a link: http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/05/my-take-jesus-was-a-dirty-dirty-god/

What’s your comment or reaction?  Do you think the Fishers family can risk getting a little “dirty” as we join Jeus in mission?
