On Sunday, January 6, Pastor Jerry McNamara shared some themes and goals we are calling Vision 2013.

Here’s a summary of what he shared (and that our leaders are also supporting):

• What the Lord is making clear:
• Connectedness, Fruitfulness, Mission
  • Connectedness
    • To God, through
      • personal commitment to life of worship and prayer
      • improved worship at FOM, including
        • weekly communion
        • stronger 11am service
      • Bible classes and small groups that focus on personal connection with God (praying, having a quiet time, reading the Bible for understanding and life-change
    • To others, through
      • small groups & Bible classes–I sense we need to challenge ourselves with a high percentage goal here, say 70% participation
      • hands-on mission/serving participation, such as
        • “personal neighborhood demographics gathering” and need-meeting
        • bring in a food truck for African starvation meals and have Sunday meal assembly
        • ft bend family promise initiated
      • Fellowship events throughout year that target couples, young families, 5-6th graders, 7-8th graders
  • Fruitfulness 
    • There have to be signs of our connectedness!
    • Internal fruit of Spirit always have outside manifestation
    • Other “fruit” in the Bible includes new people coming to faith (Colossians 1)
    • Let’s ask The Lord in earnest prayer what are the fruit He is looking for (Luke 13:1-8ff)
  • Mission
    • local
      • Ft. Bend Family Promise, Perfect Mission Gospel Church partnership–what do they need?  neighbor-to-neighbor care.  Boots on the ground in addition to money donated!
    • city-wide
      • LINC-Houston is our chance to impact wider cultures and help our city experience God’s restoring life
    • international
      • Let’s send a team to India, and possibly to somewhere in our hemisphere (Haiti, Belieze, etc.) and within the US!

• Explore the scriptural foundation and invite involvement of the mature in an all-adult Bible class
• ASK: We need your help!
